Located high on the slopes of Meesapulimalai with the verdant forests on one side and the stunning views of the valley below Camp Footprint is indeed a unique property in the hills above Munnar. Camp Footprint is for the young and young at heart who are looking for an active holiday but would like to do in comfort. At Camp Footprint you get a cosy bed, private en-suite facilities, great local food, personalized service and an unbeatable view right from your room…all in the wilderness with your nearest neighbor a good half hour away! A few things before you plan…we are not a hotel and do not offer the frills associated with a hotel. We are in a remote location and hence have a lot of limitations. Good wholesome food served at Camp Footprint is sourced locally and hence we do not have an elaborate menu. Our nearest shop is over an hours walk away down the mountainside so while we will try and accommodate any last minute requests it might always not be possible. Access to the top is up a dirt track and does involve walking. We are sometimes able to get a jeep to the top but often not possible as the road is tricky to maneuver. The total distance from the main road to our property is approximately 3 kms and you will be required to walk up at least a part of it but often clients to prefer to walk the whole way as it a very pleasant walk and you get to see and experience different terrains. The walk, initially is through the tea pickers village and then through tea and Shola forest. The last bit of the walk is up the mountain slope that does have a couple of short steep bits. Note, the entire walk can be easily done by any healthy person used to walking. A great place to be….far from the maddening crowd, in the lap of nature with great view to boot!.
